New Voices Theatre Festival

The University of Alabama Department of Theatre and Dance is committed to the development of new work that provides a voice for underrepresented communities. The New Voices Theatre Festival is an annual festival celebrating new works from diverse voices across our nation. During a summer residency at The University of Alabama, the New Voices Theatre Festival provides playwrights the opportunity to collaborate with directors and actors on a new piece that will culminate in a public staged reading. From the staged readings, The University of Alabama Theatre and Dance department will choose one new work to mount as a full production in the Marian Gallaway Theatre during the upcoming season.
